Welcome to Southwold Beach Hut

Built-in 2014 our hut is modern, very clean & just adorable.  It’s located next door but one to the Pier on the North Beach is family owned & has beautiful traditional blue & white beach décor.  The hut has a perfect position overlooking Southwold beach, with stunning sea views and a gorgeous sandy seashore.  A few seconds walk from the famous Southwold Pier and is conveniently next to a large car park & the public toilets.  For information and costs on car parking in Southwold please click here.

Imagine going to the seaside with your family, getting to your beach hut, opening up & having everything you need for the day just waiting for you.  All you have to pack before you leave home are towels, costumes, wet suits, snacks, and drinks for the day. Our rates £70-£90 per day.

When you arrive simply set up the chairs, table & sun loungers, make drinks & get ready for the day ahead. While the children go to the beach a few meters from the hut, you can sit & watch them play.  With as many hot or cold drinks as you need, snacks at hand, just lay back and enjoy your day. At lunchtime, everyone can get together for maybe a toasted sandwich or soup around the table away from the sun.  If you have all enjoyed a swim you can easily get changed in the warm beach hut.  A great meeting point for friends & family & there are plenty of seats & blankets for everyone. You can take photos, snooze & drink wine to your heart’s content until sunset.

The life of a beach hut is what we’ve chosen for our family. It’s very convenient & saves a fortune by not having to go to cafes for food & drinks – a family of 4 can easily spend in excess of £50 a day for these things not to mention trips to the shops to buy beach toys to keep the children entertained. In the blanket box you can find playing cards and board games, or if you are all feeling more energetic rounders, cricket, footballs, etc for the beach – everything you need is provided for you.

Access to the beach is via 6 steps & there is also a very wide ramp close by.  Other attractions within 5 minutes’ walk are:

Boating Lake, Restaurants, Cafe’s, Gift Shops, Mini Golf, Amusement Arcades, Life Guard Station, Punch & Judy, beach walks & the pubs are just a 10 minute walk away! There is lots more information here on places to explore in the area.

If you want to slip away and enjoy some local food, Southwold has some amazing cafes & restaurants which all cater for families. Café on the Green serves quick, fresh, tasty sandwiches if you don’t want to make your own.   The Lord Nelson sells amazing pub food, it gets very busy but sells the best chips! Sole Bay Fish Company is located in the harbour and sells fresh fish daily. The large car park next door to the hut also sells fresh shellfish daily, although sells out after a couple of hours as the fish is so good, make sure you get there early!

For traditional fish & chips, The Beach Cafe will be perfect for you, again it gets really busy here at peak times but definitely worth a visit. Suzie’s Beach Cafe is real fun, varied premises, which sells beach games – you may have a long wait for your food at peak times, but they have the best pesto ciabatta if you are looking for something a little different.

The hut is fully equipped with:

Sun Loungers, Folding Camping Chairs, Folding wooden chairs,  Table, 2 Ring Hob with Grill – including gas, cutlery, crockery, saucepan, kettle, assorted games for all ages in the blanket box & lots other goodies…….

All we ask is for you to respect the hut & leave it in a clean, neat & tidy state at the end of your stay. Please note some of the items are stored in the loft area.

If you’d like a cottage for your stay in Southwold we recommend Simply Southwold or have a look here for places to stay.

We look forward to you staying in our gorgeous hut,
